FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS BAIL?

Bail is a form of collateral that one pledges to a court to seek release from jail until the hearing comes up. The premise is that the convict will appear for the hearing or forfeit the bail, and possibly be charged for failing to appear, in addition to the crime.

WHAT IS A BAIL BONDSMAN?

The bail amount set by the court depends on the nature of the crime and the suspect's past records. Usually this amount is out of reach for most suspects. This is where a bail bondsman comes in. We post the bail on the suspect's behalf and charge a fraction of the amount for our services.

Banks, insurance companies, and other similar institutions stay out of such services as the risks involved are high. Bail bond agents, on the other hand, are in the business to cater to criminal defendants, often securing their customers' release in just a few hours.

WHAT IS COLLATERAL?

Collateral is money, property, etc. that you deposit with the bail bond company. It acts as a surety against the bail amount we post on your behalf. The collateral is held until the bail bond process is completed and the premium has been paid in full. We accept various forms of bail collateral. Some examples of collateral include real estate, cars, credit cards, stocks, bonds, jewelry, personal credit, and bank accounts.

HOW DO I GET A WARRANT FOR MY ARREST LIFTED?

An attorney is still your best bet if you suspect that there's a warrant for your arrest. Your attorney can research the warrant records and tell you which court has issued a warrant against you. Your lawyer can also negotiate a plea bargain with the prosecutor and have your warrant cancelled.
